The James Holmes target is based on an American terrorist and convicted mass murderer. Holmes is responsible for the 2012 Aurora shooting he murdered 12 people and injured 70 others at a Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colorado on July 20, 2012.

James Holmes was arrested shortly after the shooting and was jailed without bail while awaiting trial. Holmes entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity, which was accepted. August 24, 2015 he was sentenced to 12 consecutive life sentences plus 3,318 years without parole.
